 Overview

The project represents a laboratory to test a new and updated teaching method resulted from the sharing of good practices and experiences among partners. Thanks to the Partners simultaneously implementation of training modules and the collection of data that could allow evidence of improvements and impacts achieved (including proactive interaction with children schools and families), the project will standardise a high level beginers’ skating teaching method, able to:

  • capitalise the best techniques developed by a group of three European sportive associations / clubs;

  • assimilate findings in the field of children’s disabilities and dysfunctions fighting;

  • make skating (and sport in general) an attractive fun for chil

 Main output

The Project main output is, in fact, a beginners Skating Handbook to be disseminated at international level based on partnership local experiences. The approach of the Handbook is evidence-based and will be supervised by “great skating/hockey coaches” (already included in the proposal). Note that the Italian and Spanish national hochey coaches belongs to the Partners of the Project. The development of the proposed collective building method will go hand in hand with the evaluation of its effectiveness to achieve the expected results on children. This evidence-based output includes the identification of the technical parameters (Code of Points) able to provide evidence of the effectiveness and the results achieved by the approach adopted with the final aim of making this evidence easily available to other skating clubs and associations.

 Expected results

  • Increasing children participation in health-enhancing physical activities

  • Improving skating teaching techniques and increasing quality with a particular attention placed on children dysfunctions and the reinforcement of the “sport-for-all” approach.

  • Increasing technical and scientific contents applied to the skating techniques (through the development of specific achievement measure oriented tables made available by proper experts); supporting monitoring and evaluation systems aimed at evaluating the effects of the skating teaching at different levels and at different times.

  • Increasing confidence of coaches and other partnering staff by enhancing their management and teaching capacities.

  • Increasing confidence of children thus impacting on their many life fields and raising awareness that physical activity is an essential requirement for health.

  • Fostering the role of skating and hockey in the sportive world, by increasing importance and attention towards these sports in the countries involved in the project; rising ordinary people acknowledgement as well.

 Other effects

  • Developing integration among European countries based on a common sport  and tradition thus increasing European contribution and role to a world wide spread sport; as well as fostering a framework of European cooperation in the field of sport.

  • The available evidence of effectiveness should promote the design of new interventions and activities at different levels (local, national and European ones).

  • Shortcoming the way health-enhancement physical activities activities are developed and implemented

  • Increasing management and acknowledgement of skating and hockey at national and at international level.
